Philosophy of Care
I believe that the childbearing year is a profound time in not only the mother’s life but the family unit as a whole. The childbearing year is permeated with a broad range of personal, spiritual, and cultural meaning that is unique to each individual. It is my honor to provide care in a way that empowers families to educate themselves and take ownership of decisions regarding the care that is best for them.
Lori Hedlund LDM CPM practices according to The Midwives Model of Care, which is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life processes. The application of this woman-centered model of care has been shown to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.
